Moon phases 2024–2032

Every quarter phase to the minute, with the Moon's distance at each, and the perigee and apogee passages that make some full moons noticeably larger than others.

The synodic month averages 29.53 days but is not constant: it swings between roughly 29.27 and 29.83 days, because both Earth and the Moon travel on ellipses rather than circles. That is why the phases drift against the calendar.

Full moons near perigee

Popularly called supermoons. There is no formal definition, so this lists the stricter case: a full moon falling within a day of lunar perigee, when the Moon is genuinely at its closest and the disc is measurably larger.
